Life Insurance Planning in Florida and Georgia

Compare term, whole life, and indexed universal life insurance with Gustavo Coutin. Start with your coverage needs, budget, and long-term goals.

Start with the coverage your family needs

Life insurance planning begins with the financial obligations that would remain if an insured person died. Consider income replacement, housing costs, debts, childcare, education, and final expenses. Existing savings, employer benefits, and other coverage can affect the amount you need. A useful recommendation explains the coverage gap before discussing a particular product.

Compare term and permanent coverage

Term insurance covers a defined period and is often used for temporary needs such as a mortgage or years of income replacement. Permanent policies are designed for longer-term coverage, subject to their funding and contract requirements. Whole life and indexed universal life differ in premiums, guarantees, flexibility, and how cash value develops. Permanent insurance usually requires a larger and longer funding commitment than term coverage.

Understand IUL before choosing it

Indexed universal life links some interest credits to an index formula without directly investing the policyholder in that index. Caps, participation rates, and other terms limit credited interest. A crediting floor does not stop insurance costs, fees, or loans from reducing cash value. Review guaranteed and nonguaranteed illustrations and test whether premiums remain affordable when credits are lower than expected.

Review access, costs, and tax treatment

Cash value is not the same as an immediately available savings balance. Surrender charges and policy loans can reduce what you receive. Loans accrue interest and reduce available benefits; lapse or surrender with a loan may create taxable income. Tax treatment depends on the policy and circumstances. Life insurance cannot receive a tax-free IRA or 401(k) rollover, and an IRA cannot invest in life insurance.

What to bring to a consultation

Bring a list of existing policies, approximate income and expenses, dependents, debts, and your preferred monthly budget. Avoid sending policy numbers, Social Security numbers, or sensitive financial records through the website form. We can discuss your priorities first and identify what information is needed for the next step. Applications, pricing, and coverage remain subject to insurer underwriting and availability.

How the conversation works

Gustavo Coutin is registered in Florida and Georgia. The initial conversation focuses on your needs, explains the differences between available insurance options, and identifies questions to resolve before applying. Ask about compensation, policy costs, replacement consequences, and ongoing service. Legal, tax, and securities questions should be addressed by an appropriately qualified professional.
